Aluminium Eaves Beam
£151.57 (inc. VAT)
The 291 aluminium eaves beam is a support structure designed for use with structural glazing bar systems, such as the P227, P280 & P288.
Typically installed at the eaves (lower end) of a roof slope onto a post, wall, or other suitable supports, the 291 eaves beam allows for glazing bars to be positioned at a pitch of 5° to 25°. When used with lightweight polycarbonate glazing systems, it can span 3 meters between supports, and with reinforcement, it can span up to 4 meters.
The beam is secured at the lower end of the roof slope, with fixings varying depending on the structure it attaches to. When correctly installed, the eaves beam has a ‘p’ shape in profile, with fixings made through its downward leg.
End plates (Ref. 291EP), sold separately, can be attached to the beam’s ends using the provided screws. The base bar of the glazing system is then fastened to the eaves beam, and the glazing sheet installed according to the system’s instructions.
A gap may form between the top of the eaves beam and the glazing sheet due to the height of the glazing bar’s base. For open structures like carports, this gap poses no problem, but for enclosed structures such as conservatories, it can allow rain, dirt, and insects to enter. Installing an eaves filler is recommended to seal this gap if necessary.
Additionally, a wall plate (Ref. 290) is available for installation at the ridge (upper end) of the roof slope.

PVC Capped Self Supporting Glazing Bar
SELF SUPPORTING GLAZING BAR
A self supported glazing bar does not need to have any timber rafters to support them however, loading restrictions do apply. Self supporting glazing bars are ideal for glazing carports, lean to conservatory roofs, verandas and canopies. Don't forget your end caps - Click here. It is assumed that the buyer understands maximum glazing bar projections and glazing sheet widths. If you are unsure, we would ask that you call us on 01942 871183 for further clarification. The maximum projection for the self supporting glazing bar is 4000mm and the maximum width, when using polycarbonate sheet, is 1000mm. Where a sealed glass unit is being used, the maximum width is 800mm. Please note: these dimensions change dependent upon the pitch and projection of the required roof. The self supporting glazing bar has a minimum pitch of 5 degrees however, we do recommend a minimum of 10 degrees. If you are unsure on any of the above, please call us on 01942 871183.PVC Capped Self Supporting Edge Glazing Bar
